What a great bustling place to get a burger! Burgers were HUGE and messy and delicious. Their fries were just okay to be honest. I still give it 5 stars because they were crowded, boisterous, and fun to eat at. You basically order your food and find a table and you get a buzz and it's time to pickup your food. I like that we saw a lot of families there and people just having a good time. I can see why this place is an institution.

First time back after 36 years, burger was just as good as it was back then. Atmosphere about the same with fast friendly service. Don't think I'll let so much time pass before my next visit. It would be difficult to find a better burger anywhere.

Our family's go-to burger spot! The cheddar cheezy's are so good. The margaritas are strong. The music gives good vibes. And the kids will love their shakes! Ordering is on the left, bar is on the right, and there's both indoors and outdoor seating. They have some fans outside too on the hot days. Food is brought out to the table but you have to get condiments and fountain drinks yourself. Great burger spot! We'll always be back.

One of my favorite places to eat for lunch. The food comes out hot and quick. And is always tasty. Burgers come loaded up with plenty of cheese. Try the mango margarita, you will not be disappointed. I can always count on this place to be clean and deliver generous portions!

Chris Madrid's is a San Antonio staple, so you know I had to try it! Definitely a cool party place for the college and local set. You order at the front and they give you a buzzer for someone to bring the food to you. I ended up getting the Old Fashioned with a drink and a side of fries. Service was prompt, and the patty was fresh tasting if a tad on the dry side. Shout out for the fries, they're a home-style type and excellent! Definitely recommend you try the place if you're staying locally. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

As a "treat yo self" moment, I came down to Chris Madrid's for an overdue Tostada bean burger with fries. I came at the right time just before the dinner rush, and was able to grab my drink, grab my condiments and find a table and wait for my order to come out. My order came out in under 10 minutes and was and was still warm. To my burger I add some Pico de Gallo and ketchup cut it in half and dig in. The cheese is thick and melted, the beans are flavored well and the chips are still crunchy making for an excellent first bite. The fries are hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This consistency of food and service keeps me coming back. I look forward to my next time here.

Lived in SA all my life and all my life my mom has RAVED about this place. I think we have driven past it with the intent to go maybe 10 times, but it has always been SO packed that we gave up. Well, we finally scored and walked in with no line! The inside is very nice, updated yet has a great homey feel to it. We sat outside and it was perfect for a beautiful day. You order at the front so there is no waiter but the guy who took our order was very friendly and helpful. On to the food. My mom got her all time favorite burger. The tostada burger. She said it is always the best burger she has ever had. Not only does it have great tasting ingredients but the uniqueness of the burger is what makes it so good! I got a cheeseburger with no pickles and it was also delicious and a great size! Also, the prices are hard to beat!! We got a thing of fries to share and it was the perfect amount. All in all a very fresh tasting quality burger. The icing on the cake was the fact that I left my purse hanging over the chair outside and did not realize till I got home 15 minutes later. I was freaking out as someone could have easily snatched it from outside. Luckily, when I called, they had my purse! They asked me a few things to identify it was really mine and kept it at the counter. That really spoke to the restaurants and its customer integrity. Thank you Chris Madrids!
